About the Item
This wall plaque is unsigned with respect to the maker, but it is presumed to have been made in Canada in approximately 1950 in a traditional style. The plaque is composed of a very detailed casting with white metal or spelter that has been cold-painted in muted tones. This advertising plaque for the Royal Trust Company, which we believe is an affiliate of the Royal Bank of Canada depicts an Indigenous Chief and an Indigenous warrior holding up the British crown. The dimensions posted below reflect the original frame, and the size of the plaque itself is eleven and a half by seventeen inches.
