About the Item
Bring color and character to your home with this elegant pair of antique wall plaques. Sculpted in France circa 1880, each square Majolica panel features a finely modeled bust portrait in high relief, one of a lady and the other of a gentleman, both dressed in richly detailed Renaissance attire with feathered hats and jeweled collars. The vivid hand-painted glaze highlights an exquisite palette of emerald green, rose pink, ochre, and burgundy, adding depth and luminosity to the intricate craftsmanship. These ceramic works of art are framed within molded foliate borders and retain their original glossy patina. Both pieces are in very good condition with minor wear and a small corner chip consistent with age and use. Perfect for display in a library, hallway, or dining room.
