About the Item

Set of four late 18th Century Georgian canvas wall panels. These canvases would have been inset into a Neo-Classical Adams style country house panelled interior. From the size and shape, likely set high above doorways. The panels are crudely made with chalk distemper paints on rough canvas, not meant to be seen up close. The canvases have been reframed by a simple white baton as the original frame would have been the panelling itself. Circa 1780.
