About the Item

French set of twelve faience plates, made in the manufacture of "Stafforshire" in the 19th century. The Staffordshire ceramics come from a tradition of artisanal manufacture dating back to the early 17th century. The region was rich in clay and coal, as well as salt and lead. Over the centuries, this craft became an industry. Statuettes such as Staffordshire plates are regularly sold at Christie’s. This lot in Chinese style is characteristic of 19th century fashion, especially from the middle of the 19th century. Twelve plates with Chinese decoration at the Pagoda. This set of plates is made from decommissioned pieces, which makes each plate unique. Good condition. Shipping: 21 / 21 / 10cm.
