About the Item

A spectacular and exceptional 18th century Altar Facade from the Catalan region of Spain. Carved in wood and gilded with both gold and silver. To the left side there is the sun surrounded by clouds and sunburst rays. To the right side is the moon also surrounded by clouds and moon rays. In the center is a crowned A M - Ave Maria. A fantastic piece of artwork. Sensational patina.
