About the Item
This traditional African Kéwélé mask from Congo is a striking ethnic art object hand-carved from aged wood and finished with a carefully applied natural patina. Its elongated shape and two tall stylized ears evoke sacred animal figures and spiritual symbolism typical of ritual masks from Central Africa.
The two-tone finish, contrasting deep brown and matte ivory, highlights the facial features and intensifies the mystical presence of the gaze. Entirely handcrafted, this tribal mask reflects the artisanal mastery passed down among the Kéwélé people.
