A very good limited edition serigraph (silkscreen) by noted British graphic artist Derek Hirst (1930-2006).
Printed on archival deckle edge paper, the bottom margin embossed with blind stamps together with the artists hand written notations in graphite, referencing the very low limited edition number 5 of 12 (V/XII) bottom left, the hand written title bottom middle, and the artist's signature
date 1980 bottom right.
ARTIST BIO: Derek Hirst (1930-2006) studied art at The Doncaster Art School and The Royal College of Art in London, and was a great admirer of the works by Miro, Gaudi
Tapies.
Derek Hirst's work has been exhibited at several prestigious national galleries
museums including the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and the Museo Municipal in Madrid. He had also participated in two exhibitions held at the Tate Gallery in London during the 1970s.
His work is represented in several permanent museum collections, including the Arts Council of Great Britain, the Brooklyn Museum in New York, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, as well as several other notable international collections, both public
private.

Bio: Robert A. Nelson (1930-2012) received both his B.F.A. & his M.F.A. in 1950 & 1951 respectively from the Art Institute of Chicago.
He was alto the recipient of the illustrious 'Purchase Prize' in the 31st National Exhibition of Boston Printmakers, and was later awarded the Cezanne medal from the government of France in 1961.
