About the Item

Two engravings from the book "The Description of Egypt", a major publication by the scholars who accompanied Napoleon, which included descriptions and engravings made by these scholars of different monuments, temples and discoveries of the expedition. These engravings were distributed through books and magazines, contributing to the knowledge of ancient Egypt.. Both engravings, representing different sides of the same obelisk, are framed in gilded wood.
