The antique work is signed at lower right Paul van de Venne, a Belgian painter from Brussels.
Paul van de Venne (1882 - 1884) studied art at the Academies of Brussels from 1882 to 1884 and of
Saint-Josse-ten-Noode and was a pupil of Jozef Van Dijck. He loves to paint landscapes of the Ardennes, cityscapes of Bruges.
But mostly he paints seascapes, seascapes, landscapes of dunes and fishermen. Impressionist painter.
From 1925 he worked in Blankenberge, where he regularly exhibited at the Kursaal Casino.
The small oil painting dresses in a lacquered wooden frame.
The antique painting and frame are professionally and carefully restored.
