About the Item
Lovely and atmospheric, this drawing of a series of male nude figures at the swimming pool -- one diving, one readying to dive, others at the mirror or quietly observing -- was created by Walter Wörn in the late 1940s. The artist was fascinated with the male nude, and like to depict figures in groups, often in a ghostly, atmospheric manner. Wörn was born in Stuttgart and died there, and his works are in the Mercedes-Benz Art Collection, also in Stuttgart. This drawing is one of his finest, and is executed in pencil and black crayon on a yellowish paper.
