About the Item
A fascinatingly bold framed architectural watercolor rendering of the Dallas Athletic Club building in Dallas, Texas at the corner of St. Paul and Live Oak. Rendering Created in the United States circa 1920 by Lang and Witchell Architects, to whom the design of this building is attributed. This building hosted prominent businessmen with swimming pools, gyms, boxing events, and meeting rooms. Final building was constructed between 1923 and 1925, and stood till 1981. Wood frame, matte, and glass cover included with wire on the back for hanging.
Lang and Witchell Architects marked at the bottom. This was a firm founded by Senior Partner, Otto H. Lang and Frank O. Witchell, and it was active between 1905 - 1942. Some background is attached to the back that indicates some of the building's history.
In good condition. Some gentle wear consistent with age and use.
An item that any architect might treasure. This masterfully framed etching would make for a sophisticated historical accent and conversation starter in any home or office space.
