About the Item
Beautiful large charcoal drawing of a counselor or lawyer, original artwork by Herwig Driesschaert (1938-2010), signed and dated 1974, Belgium, lower right. The very beautiful work with many details is framed in a light-colored wooden frame with glass.
Herwig Driesschaert was a Belgian artist who was best known for his works in which two elements were central, man and nature. According to Driesschaert, man is trapped in an unnatural life from which he wants to escape.
Driesschaert was a particularly well-educated artist. He studied at the Kortrijk Atheneum, at the Kortrijk Academy and at the famous Ghent Sint-Lucas Institute, where he was able to refine his innate talent. He also received several honorable distinctions throughout his career as an active artist from the province of West Flanders, in 1966 he won, among other things, the Provincial Prize for Graphics.
