A charming and most decorative Continental 18th century Louis XVI st. Oil on Canvas and Giltwood Grisaille painting. This wonderful monochromatic painting is set within a Louis XVI st. Giltwood frame what an inner beaded border, while the outer portion displays a twisted ribbon trim. The painting depicts an impressive marble plinth in front of a painted background of swaging floral garlands and fruits. Atop of the plinth are two charming and playful cherubs, one seated holding an oval plaque of a woman, while the other assists and stands proudly. At the top of the painting is a lovely bow and rings, from which the painted garlands are suspended.
