About the Item
Refined Italian landscape from the second half of the 18th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting a splendid view with ancient ruins and figures in Venetian dress, of remarkable pictorial quality and rich in minute details. The artwork clearly fits into the tradition of eighteenth-century Venetian architectural capriccio and the label on the back features the name of Antonio Visentini (1688-1782), a well-known view painter and engraver (The painting is not currently accompanied by an expertise, but it is possible to request one upon payment of the relevant additional costs). Spectacular 20th-century frame in carved and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and recoloring in small spots. Overall in good condition. Interior size H 53 x W 44.5 cm.
