About the Item
Antique Italian painting from the first half of the 18th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a splendid coastal landscape with knights and soldiers. The painting combines the dynamism typical of battles with an imposing backdrop of coastal ruins, where towers and boats emerge from the warm, dramatic light of the sunset.
The rapid, energetic brushstrokes, the agitated figures, and the epic atmosphere recall the works of the great Italian painter Pietro Graziani (1662-1731), a specialist and absolute master of the genre. (The painting is not currently accompanied by an expert opinion, but one can be requested upon payment of the relevant additional costs.) A striking painting of excellent pictorial quality, ideal for enhancing a study or a reception room, whether classic or modern.
Scenographic 20th-century frame in carved and gilded wood, beautifully decorated, with some signs of aging. The painting has already been restored with re-lining, replacement of the stretcher, and restoration of the color in small areas. Overall, in good condition. Internal dimensions H 70 x W 122 cm.
