Oil on canvas board, unsigned. A charming small-scale landscape in the manner of the Hudson River School, depicting a tranquil river scene with figures in a sailboat drifting past a wooded shoreline. A golden light washes the surrounding trees and distant mountain ridges, while a finely painted group of figures in bright dress suggests narrative intimacy amid the grandeur of nature. Housed in an ornate, period-style gilt frame with grapevine and foliate detailing. Dimensions: Sight: 5.75" H x 3.75" W Frame: 11.75" H x 9.75" W Condition: Good overall.
