About the Item
This elegant 19th-century oil portrait presents Adam Franz Bernhard, Baron von Hirschberg (1783–1864), Lord of Ebnath and Schwarzenreuth and Royal Bavarian Lieutenant Colonel.
He is depicted in full Bavarian military uniform, wearing a gorget for officers (model 1837) and several distinguished orders, underlining his aristocratic status and decorated service.
The back bears a handwritten inscription: “Copied from the original in Weihersberg”, confirming his identity and offering valuable provenance.
Painted around 1870, the portrait shows light age-related wear and was created as a pendant to the matching portrait of his wife, Charlotte Baroness von Hirschberg (see other listing).
