About the Item
This classic 19th-century oil painting of a Collie dog features rich colors and textures, set against a serene landscape and sky. The bottom left-hand corner features the artist's signature, which appears to be signed by Taylor, showcased in an elegant giltwood frame that enhances its timeless appeal.
Although the exact date is hard to determine, the aged canvas is affixed to mitered stretcher bars with nails, a common technique for American paintings from the early 1900s. The frame is constructed with staples, indicating that the painting was reframed at some point. A secure wire is attached to the back of the frame, making it ready for display.
