About the Item
A delightful oil on canvas, “At the Fountain”, by the Provençal artist Bernard Langrune (1889 – 1961). Known for his paintings of regional scenes, from pastoral views to city snapshots, Langrune has beautifully captured this atmospheric moment in a quiet and shadowy corner of a French town. You can almost hear the splashing of the water from the fountain. Signed 'B. Lagrune' in the bottom left-hand corner, the painting is enclosed within an ornate moulded and gilded wooden frame.
