Antique 19th-century Flemish painting. Oil on panel artwork depicting a religious subject, The Dispute of Saint Catherine of Alexandria with the Philosopher, of moderate pictorial quality. A beautifully sized and attractive panel adorned with a carved and gilded wooden frame. The artwork unfolds horizontally, with numerous figures and details that enhance the scene.
At the center is the saint, her head adorned with a floral garland, engaged in a discussion with the court scholars. In the background is a wooded landscape and classical-style architecture (see photo). The painting has undergone light restoration with small patches of color. The painting is in good condition.
