About the Item

Each depicting a noble male figure in formal attire with a flower or cup in hand. Both portraits are embellished with gold and detailed borders, with inscriptions in Persian along the top and margins. Possibly of Mughal or Deccan school origin. The backs of the sheets are inscribed with Persian calligraphy, possibly from a manuscript or poetic context. Largest: 9 x 6 in. (22.9 x 15.2 cm.) Smallest: 8 1/4 x 6 in. (21 x 15.2 cm.)
