A captivating vintage oil painting sourced in France, likely dating from the first half of the 20th century, depicting a serene winter village landscape infused with both Cubist and Surrealist sensibilities. Snow-covered rooftops are interpreted with geometric, angular forms, while surreal touches — most notably sunflower-like shapes emerging from the snow — lend the composition a dreamlike, poetic quality. Two small figures, reminding of elderly women in long dresses and black headscarves, add a quiet narrative element, suggesting the painting may be inspired by Eastern European scenes or traditions.
