About the Item

Albert Serwazi (American 1905-1992) "Gertrude with Parrot". Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1944 upper right. Measures: 24" x 31" (Image size without frame) A painter from Philadelphia, Albert Serwazi was also a designer and illustrator. He was a student at the Pennsylvania School of Fine Arts. From 1943 to 1948, he was art director for Lewis and Gilman and also was in the Philadelphia advertising department of Dupont Co. From 1953, he was an illustrator for "Ladies Home Journal."
