This vibrant landscape captures a village in South Tyrol, framed by dramatic, towering Alpine mountains in striking hues of violet, blue, and rose. In the foreground are barren orchard trees and terraced hills, reflecting the agricultural structure typical of the region. A church steeple rises from the center of the town, giving a sense of scale and grounding the scene in a real, lived-in place. The expressive brushwork and intense colors evoke both movement and emotion, with the sky painted in soft pastel tones. Oil on chipboard. Signed lower left 'AM 76'. Presented in a simple natural wood frame, which complements the earthy and regional character of the work.
Alexander Michael (1939-2024) was a German landscape, still life and architectural painter. His paintings can be stylistically assigned to Impressionism or a late Impressionist style. His loose painting style, applied with a sure hand, creates a lively and atmospheric effect with visible brushstrokes and bright colors. The light conditions, color tones and the artist's subjective perception are characteristic of his works.
