About the Item
American oil on board portrait of horse landscape in the original gold gilt floral frame. Signed James Weiland, (1872-1968) New York, Early 20th century.
Weiland studied at the Royal Academy in Munich, Colarossi in Paris, the Art Students league and the National Academy of Design in New York. He was also associated with the Brooklyn society of artist. Died in Lyme, Connecticut in 1968.
