About the Item
This is an antique maritime Scandinavian oil on canvas painting of a coastal landscape with rocks in the surf. A few sailing ships is seen in the horizon of the sea where the water meets a blue and clouded sky, slightly looming.
This painting is impressionist in style and has a simplicity to it. It is kept in blue and toned-down earthy shades.
The painting is dated 1927 and signed "cm." in the bottom left corner. It is in good vintage condition with a little fading, cracks in the paintwork and stains in the paint according to age (please see the close up photos). The painting is sold unframed.
