About the Item
Danish original antique oil on canvas painting from 1903 by artist Holger Topp Pedersen (1868-1938).
The artwork depicts waves rolling toward the shore with grassy sand dunes in the foreground and several sailboats and ships scattered on the horizon. The sky is partly cloudy, with a calm yet dynamic maritime atmosphere.
The frame itself is ornate, gilded with a pattern of alternating gold beading and floral motifs, enhancing the classical appearance of the piece.
Holger Topp Pedersen was a renowned Danish landscape painter from Funen. He was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1886-1891..
Great vintage condition with wear according to age. Some spots of missing paint and waves at the canvas. Please see the photos.
