About the Item
Danish original antique oil on canvas painting from 1910 attributed to artist Jacob Jørgensen (1879 - 1948).
The artwork displays a calm lake or ocean with naked trees and two small houses visible through the vegetation. The season is fall or early spring with a clouded skye and small glances to a blue horizon.
The frame itself is large and heavy, enhancing the classical appearance of the piece. Gold painted and impressive.
Jacob Jørgensen (1879 - 1948) was a renowned Danish landscape painter from Funen known to be a successor to “Fynbomalerne”. He was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1901-1904. He resided in Kerteminde and later Ærø, where most of his landscape motives are from.
Great vintage condition with wear according to age. Some spots of missing paint and waves in the canvas. Please see the photos.
