About the Item

This is an antique etching by renowned Danish artist Emil Krause (1871-1945). The motive of this night-time image is an alluring moon shining behind the trees into silent waters. The image is impressionist in style. Emil Krause attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and exhibited at Charlottenborg in Copenhagen several times. The etching is estimated to be from the 1920s and is signed in print E•K in the bottom left corner. It is framed in a gold painted wooden frame. The etching is in good vintage condition with a little wear on frame as well as fading of the passepartout due to age. Please see the photos.
