Stunning example of a pair of oil on card Paintings depicting Napoleon and Josephine in oval form within a gilt frame and under cushioned glass, on an ivorine ground complete with original ormolu frame, last half of the Nineteenth Century.
The delicate reeded frame with a central cartouche of flowers and scrolling detail.
Condition: Superb condition for such an early item. The original gold plating is in good conditionh.
Height: (overall as shown) 4.75” (12cm). Width: (at widest area) 5.75” (15cm).
