About the Item
This is an antique oil on canvas painting by Danish painter Lars Johansen (1877-1954). The motive is a well kept small Danish holding with a bedside area, an arrangement at the fireplace and an open door.
The red colors of the bedside beautifully complements the green roof, and overall, the painting is toned down by earthly colors.
Lars Johansen was from Funen in central Denmark and was a productive painter of houses, landscapes and interior. It is said that L. Johansen has painted almost all the farms in his home town Ørslev!
This painting is iestimated to be from the 1910s and is in very good vintage condition with som wear at frame according to age (please see photos). The painting is signed at the bottom left corner, slightly below the outer gold painted wooden frame.
