About the Item

The antique paintings category is oil painting on panel from the 19th century, 19th century. It depicts an interior scene with a woman descending a ladder into a domestic room where there is a cat and a carpenter's table. The antique painting is signed Leleux Armand, a French painter. Leleux Armand Hubert Simon ( 1818-1895), was born in Paris and was a pupil of Ingres with whom he takes a trip to Rome. He exhibited at the "Salon De Paris" where he received many medals in 1844, 1847, 1848 and 1859. He stayed in Germany and Switzerland where he participated in all the exhibitions in these countries. Its interiors are highly valued. On the back, of the painting, on the wooden board is written a date July 1876 and the place where it was painted, in the " Château de Tarasp Grisons Suisse" in Switzerland. The antique painting bears a Gilded Frame in pure gold leaf, original and coeval with the antique work.
