Dramatically and vividly painted, this depiction of a seated Archer of Asian descent, holding his bow in one hand, is a Classic example of Depression-era portraiture. The contemplative posture of the figure, the beautiful blues and grays of his sash, trousers and boots, and the rich mahogany of his skin tones, combine to present a powerful picture of youthful strength. The painting is oil on canvas, and retains its original frame.
