This striking oil on canvas depicts the famed barque Archibald Russell under full sail, cutting confidently through open water with a smaller vessel trailing behind. Painted in 1984 by John Richard Perry, the composition captures the romance and power of early 20th-century deep-water sailing, with meticulous attention paid to rigging, hull details, and the play of light across the sea.
