About the Item
With the 20th century invention of quick-drying and water-soluble acrylic paint, artists were able to manipulate color in ways never before possible. In this 1978 atmopheric 'Gloria' American artist Daryl Hughto (b. 1943) uses translucent, acrylic washes and stains to create an image which almost seems to glow from within. Hughto’s work has been exhibited at the Soloman R. Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
