About the Item
With the invention of quick-drying and water-soluble acrylic paint in the 20th century artists were able to manipulate color in ways never before possible. In his 1978 painting 'Punk Rocker' Daryl Hughto (b. 1943) uses translucent acrylic washes and stains in bright, acidy colors to represent the ethos of the time. Hughto’s work has been exhibited at the Soloman R. Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
