Donald Plenderleith, 1921 - 1995 ( Thomas Donald Plenderleith ) was renowned for his landscapes and harbor scenes, often depicting locations in England, such as Bath, Cornwall, and Suffolk. His works can be found in several public collections, including the Victoria Gallery Museum and the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. Plenderleith was a painter, printmaker and teacher, born in Peebles, Peeblesshire. He studied at Ealing School of Art from 1937 to 1946, where he learned under the guidance of Thomas Lightfoot. He then attended Hornsey School of Art from 1946 to 1947, studying with John Gerald Platt. Plenderleith held several teaching positions in the London area, including at St. Nicholas Grammar School in Northwood. He exhibited his work at the Royal Academy (RA), the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) amongst other venues. He lived in Hatch End, Middlesex, England.
