Product description:
This painting on a wooden panel of a windmill and farmhouse is similar in subject and brushwork to paintings of Simon Knikker, it is unsigned though. It pictures either an early autumn or late spring in the late afternoon on one of those days where the sunlight slips through the patches of clouds. Although the brushwork technique is loose, the atmosphere is captured perfectly, a calm rural place in the polder of the Netherlands where time passes by slowely like the blows of a windmill.
Product condition:
The painting is in very good condition, the frame misses some coating here and there but this is not taking away from the beauty of the object.

Both the beginning and the end of Charles Eyck's life (1897 - 1983) took place in the Dutch province of Limburg. In his life he produced paintings, sculptures, buildings and stained glass.
