Early 20th Century English Watercolour of a Country House in Gilt Frame
A charming early 20th century English school watercolour, finely painted and depicting a handsome Gothic Revival red brick country house set in landscaped grounds. The architecture—rich with pointed gables, arched windows, and an adjoining tower—evokes the style of Victorian or Edwardian stately homes or academic institutions.
The painting captures the gentle English light and pastoral surroundings with confidence and delicacy. Unsigned, but the work of a skilled hand.
Presented double mounted under glass in a later gilt frame. Clean and ready to hang, with only minor signs of age to the frame. Provenance: removed from a house in Worcestershire.
