He studied at the Munich Academy of the Arts in 1898 with Gabriel von Hackl, Ludwig Herterich and Ludwig von Löfftz, but he is mainly influenced by the Munich art scene outside the academy and by artists such as Carl Schuch and Lovis Corinth. It is at this moment that he takes the name of artist Pick-Morino. Later, he was a pupil of Arnold Böcklin in Florence In 1901 he arrived in Paris where he became a pupil of Albert Besnard and Pascal Adolphe Dagnan - Bouveret. From 1910 he lived in Vienna and Baden, near Vienna, but still goes on study trips. From 1919 to 1929, Pick-Morino lived in Vienna, where he became a member of the Künstlerhaus in 1921. He then travelled to France, Italy, the Orient, Germany and Hungary. In 1939, he moved to Budapest, where he changed his last name from Morino to Morinyi. In 1958, he left Hungary and died in Belgium. Edmund Pick-Morino began to paint in a tonic fashion, but turned to French impressionism. In the 1920s, his portraits, landscapes and urban landscapes came close to Austrian expressionism. His pictorial themes were mainly still life and landscapes.
