About the Item
An English oil on canvas equestrian painting from the early 20th century signed George Paice (1854-1925), depicting a horse standing in a field, in a new custom brown and gilded frame. Created in the early years of the 20th century by British painter George Paice, this horizontal oil on canvas painting features an elegant brown horse with a single white sock, standing calmly in a field. Accented by a grouping of trees on the right side of the composition, the scene depicts the horse seen in profile, his head slightly turned towards us. It is standing out beautifully on the blue sky in the background. The light coming from the front right casts a shadow on the green grass. The painting is signed and dated G. Paice 12 lower left, and is set inside a new brown and gilt custom-made frame with petite beads. With its elegant subject and skillful depiction, this English oil on canvas painting by George Paice circa 1912 will enliven any wall beautifully!
