Framed English School Oil on Board, Two Hounds on the Hunt, late 19th/early 20th Century.
An unsigned English School oil on board depicting two hounds mid-hunt, painted in the manner of John Emms, with echoes of George Armfield's and Sir Edwin Landseer’s sporting scenes. The artist demonstrates a strong understanding of canine anatomy and movement, rendered with earthy tones and atmospheric brushwork typical of late 19th-century British sporting art.

This painting is an excellent example of English sporting art, ideal for collectors of canine subjects, hunting scenes, or traditional English interiors.

Condition:
Good antique condition. The varnish shows mild, even yellowing consistent with age. Minor speckling of paint loss and rubbing along the lower edge, particularly where the board meets the frame. Structurally sound and visually cohesive.
