English Victorian style full lengths portrait of a gentleman (possibly Toscanini) with a mustache wearing a long black coat
hat holding a cane (signed: LUCIA TARDITI 1913 ROMA VII).
Lucia Tarditi was a painter interested in both landscape and genre scenes, finding congenial application in portraiture with which she acquired a notable and rapid notoriety. Lucia Tarditi is in fact one of the first women to attend regular studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. With other young artists, including Boccioni and Severini. Lucia attended the studio of Giacomo Balla deriving from the teacher a particular sensitivity to color and perfecting the ability to treat it with strong and safe brush strokes. In 2010, on the occasion of the exhibition "Piccole donne al Quirinale" inaugurated on March 8th, a great tribute was given to Lucia Tarditi with the exhibition of the work "Marga" of 1917.
