About the Item
A French oil-on-canvas portrait of a woman from the Louis Philippe period of 1830-48. Her ensemble and hairstyle place her to the mid-1830s. The canvas is in good unlined condition (“unlined” is a positive because it’s easy to very the age of the canvas), and is complemented with a frame from the Second Empire period of 1852-70. The frame is in a state that’s commensurate with its age (ie, it's perfectly adequate, but you might want to rehab it a bit).
