Fresh and light, this lovely Impressionist painting of a spreading apple tree laden with blossoms, reigning over a field brilliant in tones of spring green and gold, was painted by Edward Siebert in the early 20th century. Born in the District of Columbia, and active both in New York and D.C., Siebert was well-known for his portraits and genre scenes in garden settings. This is one of the most vivid and energizing scenes by Siebert we have seen.
