About the Item

Fabulous oil painting called "Gitanes" by Spanish Artist Francisco Sillue. Fabulous rich colors contrast the darkness of the gypsies and the vibrant colors of the donkeys very much in the style of Francisco Zuniga. Sillue painted in Paris, Norway and Sweden in the 1960s then moving to London and eventually ending in Sitges near Barcelona. Signed on the canvas Francesco Sillue / Paris and on verso. With more than 60 solo exhibitions, Sillue's work has been exhibited widely in galleries throughout Spain, Holland, Portugal, Norway, Germany, England, Columbia, Switzerland, France and the United States.

Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Age appropriate wear, rich colors. Some slight paint loss thinning in a few areas mostly in gold ban green rocks around donkeys a couple of pin prick size missing paint in the gypsy robes but not noticeable when hanging. Presents well.
