G. van Rampelberg 'Gewichtige Bespreking' Oil on Panel, Belgium, 1920s. This is a truly fantastic painting by G. van Rampelberg, made in the early 20th century in Flanders, Belgium. When you look at this painting you are viewing a wonderful and very well painted scene; a group of elderly men chatting and discussing on a village green. It is called 'Gewichtige Bespreking' which means something like 'A Very Important Discussion'. A typical Belgian scene, but we think very relatable in every other part of the world. It is painted in a very distinct and precise style. It is both very detailed and precise, but also strangely naive in a way. It is a very special painting indeed. Signed at the back. At DEZAAK DELUXE we try to find items that are out of the ordinary. With experience over 40 years, we are known for our singular eye and combining the new and the old. We have a few thousand items in stock in our beautiful showroom in a reclaimed factory building out of the 1930s.
