About the Item
Dutch multi-disciplinary artist Jan van der Meulen (1935) was born in the Frisian village of Burgum. As a 14-year-old boy, van der Meulen was employed by a graphics company and trained as a stone printer/lithographer. As a painter, he considers himself a self-taught artist. This painting from 2008 on mounted canvas board showcases the artist's vivid and bold use of color as well his strong use of contrasting shapes and colors. Signed by the artist. In good overall condition with minor wear to frame.
