About the Item

Henryk Musialowicz (1914-2015), oil on hardboard from the series Réminiscences, Poland 1984-85. Signed top left and countersigned and dated on the back. The frame is painted and is an integral part of the work. Henryk Musialowicz, a leading Polish artist, was marked by his encounter with Rembrandt's work in 1957. He turned to a concise form in black and white During this period, the "War Against Man" series was created, characteristic of his work, followed by the "Reminiscences", "Epitaphia" and "Family" series. The work that I propose to you was created over two years (1984-1985), Musialowicz often returning to his completed works to look at them from the perspective of time.
