A wonderfully colourful reverse painting on glass, depicting a traditional fox hunting scene in rural England. English, most probably 19th century.
Here we have the huntsman, leader of the unt, sounding his copper horn to signal the beginning of the hunt while the hounds wait eagerly at his feet.
Gouache paint with gilt and foil accents on glass.
Framed in a solid oak frame.
